Is there a seminar paper you want to present at a conference? This workshop focuses on the art of adapting something you’ve already written for coursework to present at an academic conference. We’ll guide you through considering the shifts in audience, context, and format to effectively share your work and engage with the academic community. If you have questions like how to condense a complex argument or how much context you need to bring your audience up to speed, this workshop is a great place to start working through those issues.
This workshop is geared towards grad student who have a specific paper they want to prepare to share at a conference. Please bring a printed copy of your paper to the workshop. Students at any stage of finding a conference are welcome to join, whether you’re just starting to look or have already been accepted as a speaker.
This workshop is a collaboration between The Writing Center and The Center for the Humanities.
