Thursday November 7 and 14, from 2:30-4pm
Mallinckrodt, lower level, room 132
In this two-part workshop, The Writing Center and the Center for the Humanities will coach students through thinking about adapting conference materials to something longer and more complex, like a dissertation chapter or an article for publication.
Students should bring their conference paper to the workshop sessions so that the activities can be effective and useful.
During the first sessions, we’ll offer some points of consideration on navigating the shifts in audience, context, and format. In addition to tips from us, you will have the chance to work directly on your own material in independent exercises.
The second session will feature group brainstorming and feedback. Exchange insights, ideas, and strategies with your peers beyond your discipline and come away having thought more deeply about ways to develop and expand your text.
This workshop is a collaboration between The Writing Center and The Center for the Humanities.
