Bing Yan is a PhD candidate in Chinese and Comparative Literature with a graduate certificate in Women Gender and Sexuality Studies. Her research interests include late imperial Chinese literature, women writers, female chastity, women’s religious pursuits, and translation studies. At Washington University in St. Louis, she has worked as a teaching assistant for Literature of Early and Imperial China, Chinese Civilization, and Chinese language courses.
