Julie is a doctoral candidate specializing in Italian Renaissance Art. Her dissertation focuses on the iconography of Sienese illustrious men in an attempt to better understand how the Sienese utilized and activated this particular genre both at home and throughout Italy. She is also interested in exploring cross-cultural encounters between Europe and Asia in the early modern period.
