Karla is a Ph.D. student in Hispanic Studies with a certificate in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Her dissertation explores the impact that witchcraft practices have on popular understandings of material value, trash, and economic survival in the Hispanic Caribbean. Besides her scholarly research, she is the curator in residence of the Center of Creative Arts and occupies various museum education positions in the city. She is really excited about the possibility of supporting and learning all writers, especially international students.
