Heesoo is a PhD candidate in History. She is a historian of early America studying the making of the mental and material map of the Pacific Ocean. Her interests also include global history, maritime history, history of cartography, and cultural history. She has worked as a TOEFL instructor and taught world history to elementary school students in South Korea.
