Kim is a PhD candidate in history, entering her sixth year. Her research examines the history of ethnic Koreans (koreitsy) in the former Soviet republics through the lens of home. She has conducted archival and fieldwork in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Japan, and South Korea as a Cohen-Tucker Fellow (22-23) and a Fulbright-Hays DDRA Scholar (23-24). In her spare time, Kim enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors.
